Learning Reflection

Throughout the learning in this class, I have new knowledge and many observations about the reading strategies of English. The knowledge that my teacher taught me since the first period until the last class. It is useful and can be used in everyday life.

My feelings for this course is at first I thought you must be very fierce, and must be very bored. But when I really learn I feel like how to teach of her. I like to work, discuss and exchange ideas with friends. I'm having fun and enjoy activities in the classroom. It was wonderful. See you next semester my teacher.

Classic Ann Landers

On Monday, November 14, we learned about "Classic Ann Landers" The teacher gave us read the letter of Ann Landers to advice to the problem others. After reading the passages, then do exercises.

I think, vocabulary and exercises in this lesson is easy.

I don't think this lesson is difficult.

I used scanning skill in this lesson.

I think this lesson is very interesting. I enjoy reading the passage. And here is another lesson I learn and enjoy it.

Paragraph Reading Strategies "Books and Novels"

On Monday, November 7, Today's lesson is Paragraph Reading Strategies. The teacher asked us “How to choose a book for read?”  And let us try to do the exercises before she taught. While we were doing the exercises, she was told about the learning experience in her childhood. And then gave the corrective feedback when we all finished and my answer was correct. Then she let us summarize the point of each paragraph and write a summary on the board in front of class.

I think that finding the answers of the exercises in this chapter is easy for me.

I think that summarizes the gist of the book is difficult for me, because there is a lot I don't know words.

I used scanning skill in this passage.

I think the passage of this lesson is hard, but I’ll do my best.

Read faster

On Monday, October 31, Today's lesson is Read faster starting with question “How do we improve that our speaking, listening, and writing skills?” The students to exchange ideas with friends. After the teacher asked the students "what are obstacles to faster reading?" Afterward, the teacher told us that read the text and think the topic and summarize the passage. Finally, we did exercise and the teacher gave the corrective feedback when we all finished and my answer was correct.

I think Read faster it not easy for me at all.

Reading Read faster is difficult for me the most because I'm ADHD.

I used scanning and skimming skills in this lesson.

I think reading scanning, skimming, predicting, and guessing word to help me read the passage.

Extensive reading

On Monday, October 17, Today's lesson is Extensive reading. The teacher began the lesson with the question Do you often read in English for your private study? Teacher let us write their own answers, then share ideas with friends. Then the teacher let us find the words about research. And the teacher let us read the text in the sheet and summarize the main point of each paragraph.

I think the vocabulary in this chapter is easy. Because I can understand the gist in each paragraph.

I don't think this lesson is difficult because the vocabulary in the education section I've ever read.

I used predicting and guessing word skills in this passage.

I think Extensive reading is reading skill to improved reading English better.

Scanning

On Monday, October 10, the teacher told students made group 3-4 people per group. Next, the teacher has taught me how to read the scanning should read? Afterward, the teacher let us try to do the exercises well as which group find the answer first.

I think reading is a scanning technique to read the easiest I've ever learned.

Difficult for reading scanning. I think no, because it’s just finding a key word, you will find the answer.

I used scanning skills.

I feel like reading scanning techniques because not need to know the meaning of words. We can find the answer within a short time.

West meets East ( continue )

On Monday, October 3 Last week we read the passage The "Asianization" of the United States, and this week we have to do the exercises from the story. Afterward, the students exchange ideas about

- The text mentions many celebrities, foods, and products from Asia. Which are you familiar with? Do you like them?

- What Products, Celebrities, and Other Foods from Asian countries do you like?
            Then we did an exercise about adjective and verb. And teacher was questioned “If you met a foreigner living in your country, what questions would you most want to ask him or her?”  And students to present to the class. Finally, we read “Expat in Asia” and did exercise.

I think that exercise this lesson is easy for me because I have been learning Grammar.

I think that the passages in this lesson are difficult for me because some of the words, I can't guess the meaning.

I used predicting, skimming and guessing the words skills.

I think this lesson made me see the different cultures of Asian and European cultures as well.
